Welcome to the September edition of TZ APAC’s Fresh Out The Oven. In the past month, TZ APAC saw the emergence of TezCo as the TezAsia Hackathon winner, Kickflow launch its new platform, and InvestaX complete a pioneering project. But that’s not even half of it… read on to get the latest updates on the Tezos ecosystem in Asia.
TezCo emerges as the winner of the TezAsia Hackathon
Congratulations to the winner of the TezAsia Hackathon – TezCo, a global carbon currency that can enable the purchase of carbon-emitting products via gamification, NFT, and P2P DeFi staking, to reduce the impact of climate change by integrating the Tezos network to provide universal and transparent transactions.
In second place was Radiate Finance, a streaming protocol in which users can create a stream to transfer tokens in real-time. Omni Swap – a credit default swaps solution on blockchain to remove overcollaterization requirements in loans facilities – came in third. The winners received grants of up to USD 10,000 each, allowing them to take their projects to the next level.
The hackathon was a grand success and received over 1400 registrations, 1600 individual participants and teams, who submitted 36 projects across the 3 tracks.
InvestaX announces completion of PoC tokenisation of Singapore Variable Capital Companies, with Tezos as the official public blockchain provider
A big congratulations to the InvestaX team for the outcome of Project e-VCC, which involved examining the technological, legal, and practical feasibility of tokenising the Singapore Variable Capital Company using a blockchain native structure.
The project explored VCC fund shares issued directly on either a permissionless /public blockchain or a permissioned/private blockchain. It also compared the benefits of a blockchain- native security token design (“one-tier”) as opposed to a tokenised security (“two-tier”) design. Tezos acted as the public blockchain protocol provider, supported by the Tezos Foundation and TZ APAC.
Kickflow announces the launch of its quadratic funding platform on Tezos
Kickflow an alumnus of the prestigious Tezos India Fellowship Program, launched its first-ever decentralized, open-source crowdfunding and grants platform. Kickflow aims to develop an open-source and community-controlled crowdfunding DAO platform that would help other projects in the Tezos ecosystem grow and also bring attention to the newer projects which often fall under the radar.
Kickflow has brought forth a solution that will not only enable our platform to help innovators and startups, but also ensure simultaneous social development. With the mechanisms of Liberal Radicalism and Quadratic Funding at hand, we wish to give the start to many overlooked but potential projects in need. We plan to decentralise our future and by giving this power to the public through Kickflow and its native governance token, we are one step ahead.“, said Katherine Ng, Head of Marketing, TZ APAC.
